The WWAAC Foundation, dedicated to championing outstanding Asian Americans, will present The 2011 WWAAC Alliance Conference at The Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, October 21st. The conference will feature a roundtable discussion by past honorees and 2011 WWAAC recipients, who have made major contributions not only in the Asian community, but in mainstream America. Keynote speakers include Jerry Drisaldi, President of International Sales, UPS; Xernona Clayton, Founder, President and CEO of the Trumpet Awards Foundation, Inc.; and human trafficking survivor, Chong Kim. The conference will be followed by a black tie VIP Buffet & VIP Reception from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, and Red Carpet from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The 2011 WWAAC Awards celebrating over one hundred-fifty years of Asian American contributions to this country, and honoring the achievements of this year’s elite Asian American community leaders and role models will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday October 21st at The Rialto Center for the Arts, at Georgia State University in Atlanta. Chosen through a national selection process, the Honorees possess the special qualities of dedication, service and accomplishment in their profession, the Asian American community, and the nation.

7th Annual Atlanta Asian Film Festival
Dear NACA Member,
The 7th Annual Atlanta Asian Film Festival has commenced this month with a number of Chinese movies playing this weekend!
The Georgia Perimeter Dunwoody Campus is hosting several this weekend starting off with Love in a Puff, from Hong Kong, which will be showing this Saturday October 15th at 2:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m., Juliets, from Taiwan, will be shown. On Sunday October 16th, there will be a special screening of Piano in Factory, from China, at 1:30 p.m. NACA members are invited to come and view the film with GPC Chinese Club members. At 4:00 p.m., No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti, from Taiwan will be shown. Regular festival goers to Dunwoody are used to coming to the auditorium in the C building. Please note, that due to a schedule conflict, all four of the films that weekend will be shown in A-2200, an auditorium classroom in the first building on the right as you proceed through the main entrance.

To qualify for the ranking, companies must be owned by one or more Asian Americans (at least 51% ownership). Participants can be public or private, and encompass all industries. Eligibility Criteria
1. Owned by one or more Asian Americans or permanent residents of Asian origin with ownership equal to, or greater than 51%. 2. Minimum annual revenue greater than $1,000,000 in the last 3 years. 3. Been in business for a minimum of three years. 4. Headquartered in the Southeast US (including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina). Subsidiaries are not eligible unless publicly owned or separately traded. 5. Winners must attend the GALA event on October 29th recognizing the winners once notified. The last day to enter a nomination will be October 18, 2010.
